Renowned digital AI artist and photographer, as well as NAKID Magazine founder, Dustin Hollywood, is proud to announce the launch of his first ever solo art exhibition titled “Abstract Humans.” The exhibition, which will be exclusively showcased on NAKID, represents a new creative direction for Hollywood, utilizing AI technology, including Stable Diffusion SDXL v1.0 and other software, to create thought-provoking and visually captivating artwork.
“Abstract Humans” explores the process of AI interpretation of artistically detailed prompts and delves into the discarded and overlooked art it generates in the process. Hollywood intentionally designs prompts to illuminate and accentuate the deformations in the subjects, resulting in a completely fresh perspective on the human form. This exhibition challenges viewers to question their role in judging AI outputs and encourages introspection on our own preconceived notions of AI art and artists.
Hollywood’s journey as an artist began in San Francisco and Florida, where he honed his skills and developed an eye for capturing captivating moments through photography. After completing his high school education, he embarked on a career as an apprentice in mechanical design engineering. Working on exceptional civil and defense projects for a decade, Hollywood eventually decided to pursue his passion for photography full-time.
As a music and nightlife photographer, he gained recognition for his distinctive style, collaborating with notable names such as VICE, Steve Aoki, Claude Vonstroke & Dirtybird Rec., Festivals such as Lights All Night, Bonnaroo, & EDC, as well as others like DIM MAK, and Insomniac in Los Angeles. Seeking to showcase not only his own innovative and ahead-of-its-time photographic work, characterized by slow shutter and multiple exposure techniques, but also to highlight underrepresented and obscure artists, Dustin founded NAKID Magazine.
After a successful decade of curating NAKID’s art, music, and culture content, Hollywood has now stepped into his own as an artist, exploring diverse mediums ranging from directing and cinematography to photography and AI digital art. “Abstract Humans” marks his debut solo art exhibition with his AI work though, offering viewers an immersive experience into the intersection of art and technology.
In presenting this groundbreaking exhibition, Hollywood hopes to inspire more AI digital artists to push their work to the forefront and encourages those who have yet to engage with AI to explore its limitless potential. There will be 40+ pieces shown along with NFT motion graphic clips exclusive for the series for a select few of the pieces being shown today like the one above on our YouTube!
