JUST KIDS – SVEN SIGNE DEN HARTOGH {ARTIST TO WATCH/PHOTOGRAPHY/NSFW}

Sven Signe den Hartogh, is a award-winning and multidisciplinary artist, creating out of the endless need for self-expression. In his work he combines exploring magic with reality, bridging the gap between this world and the unknown. He believes that we are very disconnected from our true self and strives to make the concerns of art relevant to individuals. Art, for him, is all based on feelings, using your heart, eyes and hands to create. Sven works in diverse art forms such as photography, painting, film, poetry and installations. Sven currently resides in Delft, The Netherlands.

Both my girlfriend and myself are so inspired by the work of Patti Smith and Robert Mapplethorpe that somehow we had to translate all this inspiration from the book into work ourselves. Locked inside our own world, as if the day lasted forever. We created this intimate self-portrait of ourselves. All the images are shot and created ourselves using a lot of mirrors and a self-timer.
